Computer Information Technology
The Information Technology Department offers an Associate’s Engineer Diploma in Computer Information Technology, the field that has become the backbone of business, technology and industry. The department has an extensive set of computer labs containing state-of-the-art equipment that students use to gain hands-on experience in all areas of the Information Technology field, from programming and software applications to network management and administration.

In this Computer Information Technology program, the emphasis is on how specific computer applications solve business issues. The analysis and design of computer systems are covered to acquaint the student with problems that may be expected during the job. The student learns to program computers in languages in demand in the workplace. Further, students are introduced the current software packages for word processing and database management. The students are also prepared to meet the technical needs of a business office through Microsoft, Cisco and networking courses, LAN administration.

Upon completion students are qualified to apply for positions in computer software support, programming, web development, operator, and Microsoft and network LAN administrator or a wide range of other entry-level positions or to continue in the Software Engineering Technology bachelor’s degree program BSCS, BS-IT, B.sc, B.Com(Honours) etc.
Success in servicing computers involves an understanding of operating systems, the infrastructure that connects computers, and the networks they form and adjust in NADRA, Computer Operator at Universities/ Societies/ Colleges, Lab Assistants, Atomic Energy, Telecom Companies, IT Sector, TV Channels and SPARCO etc. As a result, the Network Engineering curriculum has been designed to include attention to these factors. The curriculum provides training in Microsoft Windows, networks and Cisco networking Interfacing of Hardware & Software. The program is coupled with the appropriate theory of personal computer configuration and maintenance and repair techniques required to succeed in a dynamically changing workplace. Computer laboratory projects have been developed to simulate actual workplace scenarios and to provide hands-on troubleshooting experience. Such peripheral devices as laser printers, multimedia kits, fax modems and scanners highlight laboratory projects.
